DP World Tour: 2024 Bahrain Championship | Can Hojgaard Go One Better in Bahrain?

The DP World Tour returns to Bahrain this week for the first time in 13 years, with the inaugural Bahrain Championship kicking off in Al Mazrowiah. In the first Bahraini golf tournament since the Volvo Golf Champions in 2011, the Royal GC course will play host to some of the DP World Tour’s finest. With $2.5 million on the line, expect some great betting and golf action.

This will be the fourth of five weeks that the DP World Tour spends in the Middle East, giving us a decent swath of results to draw on. Rasmus Hojgaard comes into Bahrain as the man to beat, having accounted for himself well over the past three events in the United Arab Emirates. Can he make it back-to-back weeks on Danish victories this weekend in Bahrain?

ウィリアムヒルWe break down all the latest betting odds from bookmaker William Hill and outline the best bets to make on the 2024 Bahrain Championship ahead of the first tee this Thursday.

Current Odds Date & Time: January 31st, 9:30 P.M. (GMT)

Outright betting odds from bookmaker William Hill favour last weekend’s runner-up, Rasmus Hojgaard. The Dane pays just 9.00 to win in Bahrain, well ahead of the next favourite, Yannik Paul on 17.00. Behind Paul, the odds are reasonably tight, with Keita Nakajima sitting on 19.00 before Zander Lombard and Jordan Smith round out the top five betting favourites with odds of 21.00.

Odds for a top five finish see Hojgaard still leading at 3.25, but Nakajima on 4.50 bunny-hops Paul as the second favourite. Paul and Smith are joint third on 5.00, before Lombard comes in at 5.50.

Looking at these odds from William Hill, we see two clear bets to make heading into the 2024 Bahrain Championship. First, back Hojgaard for a strong run. The Dane could win it all, but we say betting on a top 10 or top five finish is the more conservative wager. He’s made two T11 finishes and one T4 so far in this Middle Eastern swing and seems to be getting better and better each week.

For the outright winner in Bahrain, there are any number of players who could take out the title. Given how volatile the field is, for our second betting recommendation we say going for a high return here is a good decision. Pablo Larrazabal has a strong record on the DP World Tour with nine titles and has won in the desert here too. At 41.00, the veteran offers up a handy return in Bahrain.
