Two teams will enter undefeated, but only one will leave without a blemish on their record as the #9 Texas Longhorns battle the #6 LSU Tigers.
This will be the first real test of the season for both teams. LSU dominated Georgia Southern 55-3 to open the season. Meanwhile, Texas dropped Lousiana Tech 45-14.
Despite playing a weak team, LSU QB Joe Burrow had an impressive start to the season. Burrow tossed 5 touchdowns and 278 yards en route to the victory.

Online bookmaker SportsBettng has the spread at -6½ for LSU.
Burrows wasn’t the only LSU player who had a great opening day. Terrace Marshall Jr. was the recipient of 3 touchdown passes and leads the team in touchdowns scored.
Longhorns QB Sam Ehlinger also had a memorable day in week 1. He managed 4 touchdown passes and 276 passing yards. Brennan Eagles was on the receiving end of two touchdowns in the win.
With this contest being a home game for Texas, many feel as if the pressure is on the Longhorns. The Tigers have the better ranking in the AP Polls, but it’s up to the Longhorns to impress this weekend.
Longhorn fans are dying for their team to be a national title contender this season and to do so, they will need to defeat LSU. Could the emotion of a home game against one of the nation’s best program be too much to handle for Texas?
It will be an interesting game for sure. LSU will be in the CFP picture with a loss. Meanwhile, Texas will have legitimacy if they pull off a win against LSU.
