Liverpool FC

The English Premier League broke for the final time this year in mid-November making way for the last of the World Cup 2022 qualifiers in Europe. The top tier of English football and one of the most famous leagues in the world now prepares for an uninterrupted run through the closing stages of 2021. As players, coaches and fans prepare for the hectic weeks ahead. There’s plenty to get excited about.

The race for the league trophy looks to be a close one, and perhaps the most competitive we have seen in many years. As we step towards the thick of winter, a strong case could be made for five or six teams challenging for the title. There’s also a fascinating sub-plot as up to nine teams have a legitimate chance at a top-four finish and a place in the UEFA Champions League next season. At the opposite end of the table, sides battle to put distance between themselves and the relegation zone.

It’s great to watch, but the English Premier League 2021/22 season is also great to bet on with some eye-catching odds available at Vegas sportsbooks on the top teams. Will Manchester City retain the title they won from Liverpool last season or can the Reds come back for one more? Do current leaders Chelsea have what it takes to hold their position? Can West Ham United do a Leicester City and cause an upset that will be remembered for years to come? At this stage of the campaign, it’s anyone’s guess.

Klopp’s Team Created History

Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp led his Liverpool team to a historic title win and their first of the Premier League era when they clinched a COVID-hit 2019/20 season. Many respected pundits predicted that the Reds from Merseyside would build on that success and go on to dominate English football. Fans wanted to see a legendary team that could be ranked alongside the sides of old and having followed up a Champions League win with a Premier League title, those bold statements were easy to support.

Unfortunately for Liverpool’s global support, Klopp, Mo Salah, and company could not repeat the feat during the 2020/21 season surrendering not only their trophy but also two matches in a row to bitter rivals Manchester City. Failing to retain the trophy is one thing but handing it over almost without a fight is another. A Reds side ravaged by injury to some top names, including defender and player of the year Virgil van Dijk, stumbled across the finish line last season. Even though they finished miles off the pace set by Man City, they ended up rather fortunate to remain in the top-four places and in doing so denied former league champions Leicester City with a strong finish.

It was a painful one for all connected to the Anfield club to take but it is in the past and the great thing about football is that a new season brings a fresh start. Liverpool has set about challenging for the 2021/22 trophy and is already looking better this season than they did 12 months ago. They are scoring goals for fun again, mixing it in the top-four and returning from the international break within touching distance of current league leaders Chelsea. What they do between now and January could have a huge impact on their chances of winning the league. The pressure is on.

Team is in Red-Hot Scoring Form

Jurgen Klopp is a manager that prides himself on sending out a fit and well-organized team for every match. The squad is packed with talent and has an offensive attack like none other, which is showing again this season. Liverpool is leading the competition in scoring after 11 rounds of matches with 31 goals to their name. That is four more than league leaders Chelsea and nine more than last season’s champions Man City.

Their style of play has already resulted in a few anxious moments for fans like the club’s first loss of the season when they went down 3-2 in London against West Ham. With that said, it can also come in handy like when Liverpool beat Spanish La Liga champions Atletico Madrid 2-0 in the Champions League, hammered Man Utd 5-0 at Old Trafford and scored two against the champions at Anfield.
