Calvert-Lewin made history when he netted a penalty in the last round against Brighton. The 24-year-old also started off hot 12 months ago and he’s now become the first player in Premier League history to score in his team’s first three games in consecutive seasons.

The England international ended up having a five-game goal streak at the start of 2020-21 but his form faded away during the second half of the season and the team’s results suffered because of it. If Rafa Benitez can keep his star striker sharp throughout the whole campaign then Everton might just end up having their best campaign in quite some time.

A positive result against Burnley would be a sign of progress with the team having previously struggled against Sean Dyche’s men. The Clarets picked up four points from the matchup last season, and they boast four wins compared to Everton’s three from the last eight meetings.

Dyche has very limited resources to work with at Turf Moor, but he’s turned Burnley into a hard-working team that can make things difficult for most sides in the league.

Burnley will look to kick into gear on Monday after picking up just one point so far. The team has scored the opening goal in two of the previous three games, but they haven’t yet managed to keep a clean sheet.

Dyche will hope that the addition of Maxwel Cornet can change the team’s fortunes. The Ivorian winger, who was signed from Lyon for 15 million euros, is expected to make his team debut.

The 24-year-old is a pacy player with good crossing ability and he looks like a very good signing for a team that has a direct style of play with a focus on counter-attacks.

Everton’s defenders have to be ready for a big battle with Chris Wood as he will look to get to the end of every cross. The 29-year-old Kiwi has already proven himself as a reliable goalscorer in the league and he could take another step forward if he can mesh well with Cornet.
