If Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua haven’t revived British boxing enough already then this Friday night will deliver another shot in the arm of the nation’s proud legacy.
York Hall in London brings a middleweight title clash between Denzel Bentley and Marcus Morrisonwith the British title on the line. Bentley defends against challenger Morrison, and with both men coming into this bout carrying reputations as knockout artists, expect this one to be entertaining while it lasts.

While both men enter off the back of a recent win, Denzel Bentley is the clear favorite in bet365’s books for this fight.
At odds of 1.12 to win outright, Bentley leads Morrison’s odds of 5.50 for an upset. In terms of method of victory, a knockout by Bentley offers the lowest odds at 1.50 while a decision his way pays 3.60. Meanwhile, Morrison’s odds are way down at 11.00 for either a decision or knockout.
A finish in round six is looking the most likely way this fight ends with bet365 paying 8.00 for a knockout at the halfway point in favor of Bentley.
Before being knocked out by Felix Cash in April 2021, Bentley had gone his entire professional career without tasting defeat. Stringing together ten wins and a draw with seven knockouts across the first four years of his boxing career, 27-year-old Bentley quickly became the next big thing in British middleweight boxing. His loss last year to Cash was a setback, but since then the Englishman has won two in a row and claimed the British Middleweight Title in getting his career back on track.
Marcus Morrison, on the other hand, has lost two of his last four fights over the last 18 months. The 29-year-old had been stringing together an impressive professional record, collecting 16 knockouts along the way. However, losses to Chris Eubank Jr. and Zach Parker, with the latter seeing Morrison knocked out, have dented his progress somewhat. Morrison’s record now reads 25-5-0, which is one that he will be eager to improve to 26-5-0 with the addition of Bentley’s scalp along the way.
Despite Morrison’s very respectable professional record, of concern will be the fact that all of his losses have been against opposition of Bentley’s caliber. The Brit has yet to prove that he has what it takes against the best in the middleweight division.
However, both men are knockout artists, meaning this one could go either way. A bet on Morrison winning this way through knockout is not beyond the realm of possibilities and would bring a nice payday of 11.00.
