Inter Milan Hopes to Continue Perfect Start Against Lazio

Inter Milan are off to a perfect start in Serie A and will go for a third consecutive win on Friday against Lazio. Can they get a rare away win in this fixture?

ウィリアムヒルThis will be a fascinating clash with two of the best goalscorers in world football on the pitch. Bookmaker William Hill has the odds at 2.37 for Lazio’s Ciro Immobile to find the net on Friday and at 2.05 for Romelu Lukaku to bag one for Inter.

Inter will be looking for their first away win against Lazio since 2018 when a Mauro Icardi brace helped them to a 3-0 result. The two teams have regularly exchanged home wins since then with Inter winning 2-1 and Lazio getting a 3-1 triumph last season.

Immobile scored in both games against Inter last season. He picked up his fourth Serie A Golden Boot in 2021-22 and also got quickly off the mark in the new campaign by scoring in a 2-1 win over Bologna in the opening round. Following a 0-0 draw against Torino in the second round of action, Lazio are on a run of just one defeat in 10 league outings and they should be confident of making things very difficult for Inter.

Lukaku hasn’t lost a step at all after needing just 90 seconds of action to mark his return to Italy with a goal. Inter struggled to beat newly-promoted Lecce in the opening round, but Simone Inzaghi’s men already started to pick up some proper momentum in their second game, beating Spezia 3-0.

The Nerazzurri will now be going for their 11th win in 12 league games. The team blew their Scudetto chances last term with a poor spell at the start of 2022, but Inter had a very strong finish to the campaign and they will fancy their chances of taking back the crown from AC Milan.

Will Maurizio Sarri work his magic again on Friday? The chain-smoking tactician has an impressive career record against Inter with only four losses suffered in 13 games. He’s never lost a home league match against them, even avoiding defeat during his Empoli days.

Sarri’s debut campaign at Stadio Olimpico was a rollercoaster ride, but the team has started to show consistency since spring and four points from the opening two games of the season isn’t a bad start at all for a side that hasn’t broken into the top three in seven years.
