Rashford has been playing the best football of his career in 2022-23 and many will look for him to push the Red Devils through into the semi-finals of the Europa League. In 47 appearances, Rashford has contributed a career-high 27 goals and 10 assists.

United’s star forward missed the first leg against Sevilla and the team couldn’t pull off a victory despite holding a 2-0 lead from a Marcel Sabitzer brace. Late mishaps from Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire made United the first English club ever to score multiple own goals in a European knockout stage game.

Sevilla was there for the taking and Erik ten Hag’s men could be left ruining their failure to finish off the Andalusians at home. The season has been a disaster for Sevilla, but they always seem to save some of their best performances for the Europa League, and new manager Jose Luis Mendilibar has found the right buttons to push.

Mendilibar has yet to lose in charge of the team, beating Valencia and Cadiz, while drawing with United and Celta Vigo. The six-time Europa League winners have been dangerously close to the La Liga relegation zone for most of the season, but they are now sitting 13th in the table and should be able to fully focus on Thursday’s European tie.

United did all of Sevilla’s scoring on their own last week, but they must be wary of the host’s attacking threat. The results under Mendilibar have mostly improved thanks to the team’s better offensive efforts. Sevilla has been struggling up front this season, but they have scored twice in all of the four games they have played under the new manager.

Youssef En-Nesyri scored in each of the first two games under Mendilibar and you can almost give him 2.5 goals under the new regime as Maguire’s own goal came off En-Nesyri’s header. He has scored 11 of his 14 goals this season since the start of January and it won’t be easy to deal with him for United.
