MLS action resumes over the weekend and we get a big match-up in the Western Conference as the Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles FC clash at Lumen Field on Saturday.
These two have mostly exchanged home wins since 2020 and bookmaker 10bet has the odds at 2.25 for the trend to continue. The odds are at 3.00 for a road win and at 3.45 for the draw.
※ Current Odds Date & Time: June 17th, 10:00 A.M. (EST)
Seattle enters the clash on a great run of form, but they have to overcome the absence of Raul Ruidiaz. The Peruvian forward is set to miss at least two games after getting hurt in Tuesday’s 4-0 win over Vancouver.
Ruidiaz is off to a hot start to the season and has just tied Fredy Montero for the most regular-season goals in franchise history. Replacing him won’t be easy and the team loses a lot of attacking quality without him on the pitch.
Seattle has averaged two goals per game with Ruidiaz in the lineup this season and only 1.55 without him on the pitch. The team also has a lowly 4-4-2 record without their star forward.
The Sounders have won four of their last five matches and they are looking for a fourth consecutive home win. LA is off to a great start to the campaign and leads the league with 29 points, but it’s a massive test for them.
It’s going to be an even bigger challenge for Steve Cherundolo’s men if Carlos Vela is forced to miss the clash. He is considered questionable for the game with a thigh problem.
Los Angeles has scored just once during the last four trips to Seattle and Cherundolo will be desperate to have the Mexican star available on Saturday. Vela has scored in back-to-back league outings and boasts six goals and two assists across 13 league appearances this season.
Seattle has a great scoring record and L.A. definitely needs to have a big performance offensively with or without Vela. The Sounders have been shut out a couple of times in front of their fans in 2022, but they have averaged three goals in the rest of their games.
Cherundolo will hope to see his team show consistency on the road. Los Angeles has flipped between wins and losses away from home since the start of April. They won their last away outing 2-0 against Columbus and now have a chance to register back-to-back-to-back road wins for only the second time since last August.
