Benfica started the campaign with 13 consecutive victories and Schmidt became just a little short of setting a new club record for most successive wins by a manager at the start of his reign. Sven-Göran Eriksson holds the milestone from 1982-83 with 15 victories.

The winning streak ended with back-to-back draws before Benfica got another three points on the board over the weekend by beating Rio Ave at home 4-2. It’s only the second time this season that Schmidt’s men have conceded more than once in a game.

Benfica’s defense has been very strong with nine clean sheets and the team also has a number of offensive weapons. Talented youngster Goncalo Ramos leads a pack of four players who have already tallied at least 10 goal involvements across all competitions.

21-year-old Ramos has personally recorded 16 goal involvements across 15 appearances and he will definitely be the biggest threat to PSG on Tuesday.

The hosts are expected to dominate the clash and the Big Three of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar has looked incredible this season, but the team has just failed to score for the first time in 2022-23. Reims managed to battle out a 0-0 draw at home against them on Saturday although PSG’s chances in the match were greatly hampered by Sergio Ramos’ first-half red card.

The Parisians will be eager to get back to winning ways with a strong effort on Tuesday. We should see the usual suspects leading the way. Messi scored the lone goal against Benfica last week and he will look to add to eight goals and eight assists if he can return from a calf problem suffered in Lisbon. Mbappe has yet to record an assist but boasts 11 goals in 12 appearances and Neymar has probably been playing the best football of his life this season in getting 11 goals and nine assists in 14 outings.
