UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Spivak | Knockout Artist Looking to Rebound

Mixed martial arts action is back in Las Vegas this weekend with 12 exciting fights lined up for Saturday night at the UFC Apex in the spiritual home of combat sports.

A range of close encounters are anticipated with heavyweights Derrick Lewis and Sergey Spivak headlining the action in what will be a fascinating contest. Undefeated heavyweight Waldo Cortes-Acosta also steps into the ring for just his second UFC fight and will be a crowd favourite.

We look at the best bets to be made on these fights with bookmaker William Hill, and preview the overall odds ahead of Saturday night.

ウィリアムヒルLooking at the overall list of odds from bookmaker William Hill, a couple of fights stand out as being particularly close. In fact, only one fight is anticipated to be one-sided—Danny Roberts vs. Jack Della Maddalena—with the other 11 clashes all offering odds within 1.50 of each other.

The third to last fight of the evening looks as though it should be an excellent contest. Not only do these two fighters have excellent ring names—the Vanilla Gorilla and Salsa Boy—but the match will see a classic trade off between experience and form with Chase Sherman taking on Waldo Cortes-Acosta. Sherman steps into the Octagon far more experienced having fought 26 professional fights with half of those in the UFC. However, the American has lost four of his last five fights, being finished early in his last two.

Cortes-Acosta, on the other hand, is fighting in just his second UFC event, and is undefeated across his brief professional MMA career. Debuting in 2018, the natural boxer has gained eight wins, including his first UFC win just last month over Jared Vanderaa. With four fights already this year, a big question mark exists over whether this gives the Dominican Republic native a form advantage or if he’s stretching himself too thin.

Take Cortes-Acosta for a win here with odds of 1.44 at William Hill.

Digging into the odds for the evening’s main event, we can see that William Hill has Lewis vs. Spivak likely ending in a knockout.

The question is, which man will land the power blow first? Both are capable and with knockout odds of 2.50 vs. 3.00 in favour of Spivak, this has all the markers of a fight that will be full of fireworks and unmissable. While Spivak may be in better form as he’s coming into this match off two wins and with a record of 15-3-0, Lewis on the other hand has lost his last two.

Derrick Lewis holds the record for the most UFC knockouts. With 13 UFC knockouts and 25 across his career, the Black Beast can win a fight from anywhere. Take Lewis for a knockout in this fight with a healthy return of 3.00 on this bet.
