This week the first ATP 500 tournament of the year will get underway in men’s tennis. The ABN AMRO Open 2023 in Rotterdam will feature a stacked draw with half of the men’s Top 10 playing and plenty of other big names featuring as well.
The Rotterdam Open has a proud history first being played in 1972. Three past champions will be contesting the title this week with Felix Auger-Aliassime looking to defend his 2022 crown, while both Andrey Rublev and Stan Wawrinka will be back for more as well. With Jannik Sinner coming into this week off the back of a win in Montpellier and Stefanos Tsitsipas eager for revenge after this Australian Open loss, this should be an excellent week of tennis.
Bookmaker bet365 has all the best odds ahead of the first ball being served this Monday.

Looking at the outright winner odds from bet365, it’s clear that there’s a very competitive field in Rotterdam this year. Big names Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas dominate the odds ahead of play with Medvedev leading at 4.00 and Tsitsipas right behind on 5.50. Andrey Rublev, Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev complete the top five favourites with odds between 9.00 and 11.00.
With such a full field of stars, excellent betting opportunities are abound. It’s rare that a Top 10 player such as Holger Rune pays 12.00 for a win or a defending champion and World No. 7 such as Felix Auger-Aliassime comes in with odds of 12.00. Either of these would make excellent bets as would a dark horse such as Richard Gasquet at 81.00, the winner of the ASB Classic in Auckland last month.
However, it’s hard to go past the World No. 3 Stefanos Tsitsipas here at 5.50. The Greek was in excellent form in the Australian Open and looked unstoppable, except for at the hands of one man—Novak Djokovic. With the Serbian not playing in this tournament, surely Tsitsipas will be eager to get back in the winner’s circle and notch up his first title of the year in Rotterdam.
Looking at the draw, Tsitsipas will face a repeat of the Australian Open Round of 16 match that saw the 24-year-old win an epic Round of 16 match against Jannik Sinner. Sinner has bounced back strong from that loss, winning the ATP 250 in Montpellier last week. Can the Italian get revenge against Tsitsipas in Rotterdam? If Tsitsipas can repeat his Australian Open result, he’d have to feel like he has one hand on the trophy already.
