The UEFA Champions League returns from the winter break with a bang as Tuesday’s action will include the rematch of the 2020 final between PSG and Bayern Munich.

The game comes at a bad time for the Parisians as Kylian Mbappe went down with an injury a couple of weeks back and there also question marks hanging over Lionel Messi and Marco Veratti. Being without any of the three would be a bad blow for PSG and the team will be desperate to get them healthy.
Some reports are suggesting that the trio should be fine for the big match, but we won’t know for sure until the team sheets come out. Having players with the caliber of Mbappe and Messi on the pitch will greatly improve PSG’s chances of success.
The whole Big Three has enjoyed their European outings for PSG this season. Mbappe went for seven goals and three assists in the six group games, Messi had four goals and four assists in five appearances and Neymar produced two goals and three assists across his five games.
Bayern is the favorite to advance from the tie, but the team will be pushed to the limit if PSG’s big guns are in the mood in both of the upcoming games.
The German giants have their own injury worries with a number of players nursing various ailments and some having already been ruled out for the season. Lucas Hernandez and Manuel Neuer won’t feature at all during the rest of the campaign, while Sadio Mane remains out Tuesday. Thomas Müller could also be set for a stint on the sidelines after getting substituted early last weekend versus Bochum.
The two teams go head to head for the 12th time in European competition. Bayern has been clearly the more successful side in the Champions League, but PSG actually holds the edge in head-to-head results with six wins to five. It used to be a very favorable match-up for the French team in the early years of the competition. Bayern has won three of the most recent four meetings.
