The Barracuda Championship 2023 | Opportunity Awaits While Focus is Elsewhere

The Barracuda Championship 2023

Let’s face it. The Barracuda Championship 2023 won’t be the most watched golf tournament this year. Occurring parallel to The Open Championship 2023, it’s an event that offers opportunities for up and coming players, and wily old veterans, more than prestige and prize money.

That’s not to say that the Barracuda Championship 2023 doesn’t also offer some good betting opportunities. With Chez Reavie looking to defend his title from 2022 and Vincent Norrman heading into the tournament off the back of his win at the Barbasol Championship last week, we should see a fantastic tussle for the silverware here in California.

Looking at the outright betting odds from bookmaker William Hill, we can see the Barracuda Open 2023 is prime for some high betting returns. Even the top favourite in the betting odds, Stephan Jaeger, is paying 15.00. Behind him, Taylor Pendrith sits at 19.00 before the field gets congested. Mark Hubbard and Keith Mitchell are at 21.00, while Beau Hossler, Patrick Rodgers and J.J. Spaun all pay 23.00 for the win with Vincent Norrman back at 26.00.

These same eight players make up the favourites for a top five finish with odds of 4.33 for Steven Jaeger down to 6.50 for Vincent Norrman.

There are plenty of good betting options here, with all offering handsome returns. The big question is, which horse to back? Stephan Jaeger is the betting favourite, but the world No. 76 hasn’t had an overly impressive run this year. Granted, his past two events have been top 15 finishes, but the German has been erratic this season and doesn’t feel like a safe bet.

Other strong options are defending champion Chez Reavie, who knows what it takes to win on this course having done so 12 months ago; last week’s winner Vincent Norrman, who is striking the ball well in July; or a wily veteran such as Ryan Moore, who will play conservative golf and trust that others will make more mistakes.

The Barracuda Championship 2023

Our suggestion is to make a top five bet on Vincent Norrman at 6.50 to secure a generous return. Those who are after even more of a pay out could risk it on Ryan Moore, who has outright odds of a whopping 81.00, despite having the game to win this weekend. Make both of these bets and you’ll put yourself in the best position to get a payday and potentially win big too.
