The final Major of the Call of Duty League 2023 is here, with the best 12 teams in COD CDL heading to Toronto this week. Qualifiers have been completed and now the Toronto Ultra Major V begins in earnest with a $500,000 prize pool up for grabs.
Not only will teams be competing for big prize money, but this is the last opportunity for sides to gain entry into the year-end CDL Championships. Leading the charge this week are OpTic Texas, the most consistent team of 2023, and Atlanta FaZe, winners of CDL Major 2 this year. Can home side Toronto Ultra spoil the prospects of these big names and claim a win in front of their home crowd? Or will a desperate dark horse make a run to the final instead?

Clearly, oddsmakers believe OpTic Texas’s consistency this season will be rewarded with their first Major win of the year. The side is paying 2.25, well ahead of Atlanta FaZe on 3.50. Next is the home favourite at 5.50 before the Seattle Surge and New York Subliners round out the top five betting favourites on 6.00 and 8.00 respectively.
As the betting odds indicate, we say it’s between OpTic Texas and Atlanta FaZe this tournament as well. For OpTic Texas, they are the form team right now, having navigated the Qualifiers with an unbeaten record. Most notably, they defeated fellow favourite Atlanta FaZe in their match-up, giving them an edge should they meet again in the finals here. However, despite OpTic’s consistency, they have been unable to win a Major yet in four attempts this year. Could this wind up being a hoodoo they can’t shake in 2023?
Atlanta FaZe, on the other hand, does have a big title this season. They’ve also put in some very consistent performances, finishing in third place across the remaining three Majors. The only mark against their name heading into the Toronto Ultra Major V is the fact that they lost to OpTic Texas in the Qualifiers and didn’t face any other tough teams in their four victories.
Despite the hesitation over Atlanta FaZe’s form in Toronto, we say they’re the best bet. They know what it takes to win big titles, have been wildly consistent, and will be motivated to get revenge on OpTic for their earlier loss this tournament. With odds of 3.50 for a win, they’re a great value bet.
