This weekend is all about British boxing with several exciting title fights taking place across the United Kingdom. One of these is a very tight match-up between current IBF World Featherweight Champion Luis Alberto Lopez and former Olympian challenger Michael Conlan. Conlan will have the crowd behind him and may just have a shot at nabbing his first world title if he boxes out of his skin on Saturday night.
Both men come into this clash with excellent records, holding just three losses and north of 40 wins between them. However, with Conlan in his 30s and not getting any younger, this may be the final chance for the Brit to get his hands on a piece of waist jewelry. We break down all the best bets to make on this IBF title fight ahead of Saturday night with the latest odds from bookmaker William Hill.

It’s rare in boxing for a defending champion to step into the ring as an underdog, but that’s exactly what Luis Alberto Lopez will do in this clash. Not only is he the visiting boxer and will have the minority in terms of crowd support, but Conlan has also looked sharp in his most recent fight, bouncing back strong from his defeat in 2022.
In terms of method of result odds, Conlan is favoured to take this the distance and win on points. This outcome is paying 2.20 with the next most likely also a decision win, but to Lopez at 3.40. Both men are paying moderate odds for a knockout at 4.50 and 6.00 for Lopez and Conlan respectively.

Both men have only a 50% knockout rate across all of their professional fights, so it’s hard to see this one ending early, particularly with the calibre of each man’s defence. Instead, we say that Lopez will go the distance and win this one on points.
While the crowd (and likely the judges, let’s be honest) will be in Conlan’s favour, Lopez is the champion for a reason. He recently withstood an equally tough challenge from Josh Warrington and survived with his belt, due to his ability to hang tough and land punches.
Conlan, on the other hand, showed a few gaps when he was knocked out by Leigh Wood in 2022. He may well have patched these aspects of his game up, but regardless, Lopez feels like the stronger and more lucrative bet here.
