The PGA Tour Champion will be crowned this weekend as the top 30 golfers remaining in the FedEx standings will head to East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. While the course is not ranked high in scoring difficulty, the rough is a factor, so finding fairways and having an excellent approach game should be what separates the top of the field.
The FedEx Cup has a unique format for this final event as the leaders are rewarded with stroke advantages to start the event. The first place golfer starts at -10, second at -8, third at -7, and continues throughout the top ten. Can Scottie Scheffler and his consistent ball striking hold on to the lead this year? We look at the latest odds from bookmaker William Hill odds to find the best bets this week.
※ Current Odds Date & Time: August 22nd, 3:30 P.M. (GMT)
With Scottie Scheffler leading in points and starting at -10, the world No. 1 is unsurprisingly listed as the favorite to win the Tour Championship outright at 2.50. Three time FedEx cup winner Rory McIlroy starts at -6 and is next at 4.50. Winning the BMW Championship vaults Viktor Hovland (-8) into third at 5.50, while Jon Rahm comes in at 9.00. Rounding out the betting favorites, Patrick Cantlay is fifth returning 17.00 and Xander Schauffele sixth best with 26.00 odds to win.
You can also choose to bet the player to have the best tournament performance without taking into account the FedEx cup strokes. Scheffler is still the favorite at 6.50 but is tied with McIlroy for this wager. Rahm and Hovland come in as third favorites to win on 10.00, with Cantlay at 11.00 and Schauffele on 12.00.

Looking at the broader context ahead of this tournament, there are many golfers peaking at the right time and several whose games are tailored to this type of course. Considering the year Scheffler has had, it seems criminal to leave him out–but in saying that, last year saw McIlroy overcome a stroke deficit to take the Tour Championship.
Viktor Hovland has also been due for a win and got it last week, no doubt boosting his confidence coming into the finale, while Xander Schauffele ranks as one of the best golfers statistically to play at the East Lake course, with his worst finish over the last four years being in the top six.
For the best bets this week, we say backing Viktor Hovland at 5.50 to win the FedEx Cup and Tour Championship is the most lucrative angle. Rory McIlroy upsetting Scottie Scheffler at 4.50 is also an excellent bet as McIlroy always seems to elevate his game this time of year, especially on this particular course. For the tournament winner without strokes, take Xander Schauffele at 12.00 and Rickie Fowler at 26.00.
