Things are well and truly heating up in the HSBC World Sevens Series this year. With three events to play before a season winner is decided, New Zealand holds a decisive lead over the rest of the pack. A win in Singapore this weekend would all but seal their victory, and the likes of France, Fiji and Argentina will desperately be looking to prevent this from happening.
Add in qualification for the 2024 Olympics and making the cut for a reduced HSBC World Sevens Series in 2024, and there’s plenty to play for this weekend in Singapore. Can Fiji both defend their title and keep their chances alive in 2023? Or will New Zealand continue steaming along this season and collect yet another victory?
We break down all of the latest Singapore Sevens odds from bookmaker bet365 ahead of this Saturday’s action, offering up our suggestions of the best bets to place.

Looking at the outright winner odds from bookmaker bet365, it’s no surprise that yet again New Zealand is the favourite to win the tournament. Paying 2.70 for the victory, New Zealand is slightly ahead of defending champion Fiji, who has winning odds of 3.50. Behind these two front runners, the odds drop off with Argentina back at 6.50 and Australia and South Africa further still on 9.00.
When it comes to picking a winner, we see two clear options. New Zealand is obviously in the mix, and despite their relatively low odds of 2.70, still provide a reasonably straight forward way of doubling your money. The Kiwis have won three events this season and made the final on two other occasions. Most recently, they cleaned up the competition just across the ditch in Hong Kong, lifting the trophy there less than seven days ago. With the season victory in their sights, it’s easy to see New Zealand being laser focused on picking up yet another tournament win in Singapore and extending their lead over the rest of the field.
Another strong bet to win in Singapore is South Africa. The men in green and gold have only won one event this season and have been fairly nondescript for large chunks of the year. However, with Olympic qualification on the line as the year’s end approaches, South Africa will be motivated to put in a big performance here. They’ve won in Singapore before and currently sit in fifth in the standings—a win would likely leapfrog them into the top four and put them in Olympic qualification contention. Given the caliber of this South African side, such a performance would be no surprise.
