The Old Lady is left to battle for a top-six finish after receiving a 10-point deduction as a punishment for capital gain violations. The team itself has made the situation more difficult as well, suffering back-to-back defeats ahead of the final matchday of the season.

Taking three consecutive losses is incredibly rare for top teams but Juventus actually had one such streak already in April. It’s been a miserable finish to the campaign and another loss and the failure to grab a Europa League spot with a top-six finish would make the summer very long for the players.

Udinese must also be disappointed in how things have unfolded over the latter half of the season. Andrea Sottil had a superb start as manager at the club, making Udinese a contender for European positions again, but the team has won just six games since the start of October and there have been six losses in the last 10 league outings.

Like Juventus, Udinese will also be aiming to end a losing run on Sunday as Sottil’s men have dropped three consecutive games. They have been shut out twice during the run, conceding six times. A much better effort at both ends of the pitch will be required on Sunday to put a stop to the losing streak.

Udinese hosts Juventus on Sunday having gone three seasons without a win against them. Danilo’s late goal gave Juve a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture, extending their unbeaten run in the match-up to five games. Across the last 14 league meetings, Udinese has beaten Juve just once, so this fixture hasn’t suited the team at all for a long time.

Former Juventus man Roberto Pereyra will spearhead Udinese’s attempt to improve the club’s record in the head-to-head meetings. The Argentine, who will make his 200th appearance for Udinese on Sunday, leads his team with 12 goal involvements this season, showing off sharpness in front of the net with five goals and producing a team-high seven assists.
