WTA 1000 Miami Open | Can Rybakina Complete the Sunshine Double?

March is a fantastic month for tennis fans. After ten days of high quality tennis action in Indian Wells, the best players in tennis will head to Miami and do it all again over the next ten days. With Elena Rybakina claiming her first Masters 1000 crown over the weekend, can she back up her Indian Wells Masters 1000 performance with another winning run here?

Both Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka will be doing everything within their power to stop the in-form Kazakh. Swiatek, while not as invincible as she was in 2022, is still hot off her win in Doha last month and sits at No. 1 in the world. Sabalenka, meanwhile, will rue her missed opportunities in last weekend’s Indian Wells final and be eager for revenge this week.

ウィリアムヒルWe break down all of the best bets to make on the WTA Miami Open 2023 with odds from bookmaker William Hill.

Current Odds Date & Time: March 21st, 8:30 A.M. (GMT)

Looking at William Hill’s outright betting odds ahead of the Miami Open this week, for the first time in years, a genuinely competitive top five is shaping up in the female field. Iga Swiatek still leads the pack with the strongest odds at 3.00. However behind her, Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina are catching up with odds of 6.50 and 8.00. Rounding out the top five are the ever-present threats of Barbora Krejcikova and Jessice Pegula, who sit on 11.00 and 12.00 respectively.

We say Elena Rybakina is by far the best bet to take here in Miami for two reasons. First, she has beaten both Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka in the past week. Not only has she beaten them, but she managed it in straight sets in consecutive matches in the highest of pressure situations. Last week felt like something of a coming of age for Rybakina with the 23-year-old showing incredible composure and consistency. It’s hard to bet against someone who has so recently beaten the other two favourites in this tournament.

The second reason is the sheer difference in odds. While we say Rybakina is the genuine favourite in this tournament based on what Indian Wells showed us, at best it’s a coin toss between Swiatek, Sabalenka and Rybakina. And yet, Rybakina is paying a whopping 8.00 for the win—a bet that feels too good to be true and certainly is worth betting on.

Speaking of great odds, another strong bet could be backing Ons Jabeur to find some momentum for the first time in 2023. The Tunisian is 4-3 for the year but has been as high as No. 2 in the world recently. She’s in a slight lull and is down at No. 5 in the world, but could come right at any moment. With odds of 34.00, if that moment is now then punters who back her will have a very healthy return on their wager.
