The Bundesliga giants go head-to-head in an unusual situation – this will be the first Der Klassiker in 14 years with neither side topping the league. Leverkusen has had a phenomenal season, forcing the rest of the group to play catch-up. Bayern returns from the international break sitting 10 points behind Leverkusen. Dortmund is fourth, 10 further points back of Bayern, and could end up finishing outside the top three for the first time in six years.

Bayern has by far the most potent attack in the league, with 78 goals scored in 26 games, but the defensive efforts have been lacking for most of the season. The shortcomings at the back should give Dortmund an opportunity to get a rare victory in the match-up. The trips to Munich have been full of misery since a 3-2 triumph in the German Cup semi-finals in 2017, and Dortmund hasn’t won any of the last 10 league meetings, losing nine times.

Dortmund needs to have Niclas Füllkrug involved as much as possible in their attacks. The veteran forward is tied with Donyell Malen on the team for most Bundesliga goals scored this season, and overall, he’s been involved in 35.8 percent of Dortmund’s league goals in the current campaign.

Kane has been involved in 48.7 percent of Bayern’s Bundesliga goals and will look to continue his historic season with another good performance on Saturday. His 31 goals mark the most a player has ever scored in the Bundesliga in the first season, and Kane has already rocked Borussia once, scoring a hat trick in a 4-0 win in the reverse fixture in November.

With the England captain in spectacular form, Bayern scored four goals against Dortmund for a second consecutive game. Seven of the last eight league clashes have ended with Bayern netting at least three times, meaning a big effort at the back will be pivotal in Dortmund’s attempt to change its fortunes in the match-up.
