This ended a four-year run of domination by St. Helens, who finished third and were knocked out in the semi-finals. Can St. Helens comeback and re-establish their reign in the Super League, or will Wigan create a dynasty of their own?

Outright betting odds show that this season is more than likely to be a two-horse race. You guessed it, those two horses are Wigan and St. Helens. The former has a slight edge in the betting odds at bookmaker William Hill, paying 2.87 to win the grand final as opposed to St. Helen’s 3.50.
Behind these two, the odds drop off significantly. Leeds Rhinos are next on 8.00, slightly ahead of the Warrington Warriors who are on 9.00. Rounding out the five teams most likely to make the grand final are the Catalans Dragons, with a return of 10.00 if they succeed.
It’s no surprise that we say this season will be between Wigan and St. Helens. Wigan has had an impressive recruitment drive over the off-season and should be well positioned to defend their title. However, it’s hard to overlook the past domination of St. Helens. Sure, they didn’t make the grand final last year, but they weren’t that far off. They’ll be motivated to turn things around this year and with all eyes on Wigan, it feels like the perfect opportunity for them to do so.
The best of the rest has to be the Leeds Rhinos, who offer a juicy 8.00 return if they take out the season. It’s a long shot, but they’re shaping up to be a quality side. Those who like riskier bets with higher pay outs might want to look at backing the Rhinos to pull off a heist in 2024.
