PGA Tour: The 2024 Genesis Invitational | Who Will Inherit John Rahm’s Title?

The PGA Tour’s third big event of the season is coming to Los Angeles, and it’s drawing a strong field of players, including the host. The iconic Riviera Country Club in California will be the venue for the 2024 Genesis Invitational starting Thursday. Tiger Woods, the 15-time Major champion and tournament host, will make his season debut alongside a star-studded field that includes the reigning number one Scottie Scheffler.

There won’t be a title defence campaign at Riviera this year, as last season’s champion Jon Rahm is not included in the Genesis Invitational lineup. The Spanish golfer, boasting 11 PGA Tour titles, has decided to depart from the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf, backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund.

ウィリアムヒルThe Genesis Invitational, designated as a ‘Signature’ event, will feature 50 of the top 60 players globally. Only Justin Rose and Matthieu Pavon have turned down the invite to participate in the $20 million competition. Who will be the new Genesis Invitational champion? We analysed the latest odds provided by bookmaker William Hill to come up with the best 2024 Genesis Invitational betting tips.

Scottie Scheffer finds himself in a familiar position once again as he leads the favourites list for the tournament. Scheffer, whose tee-to-green game and ball-striking abilities are unmatched at present, is at 7.50 to win at the Rivieira. Last week at the WM Phoenix Open, he gained an impressive 12.83 strokes from tee-to-green. He currently leads this field in that category over the past 48, 36, 24, 16, 12, eight, and four rounds.

Scheffer is also heavily backed to make a top 10 finish at the 2024 Genesis Invitational. While the odds of 1.67 are not great by any means, it’s a reasonably safe investment, given the amount of golf the Dallas man has already played this year and his current form.

However, we’re putting our money on Adam Scott to make a title charge this week. Scott boasts an impressive track record at Riviera, with two victories and two runner-up finishes on the 7,322-yard course. He can also draw inspiration from seven top 10 finishes and five top 15 finishes at Riviera. Scott’s resurgent form at Phoenix further strengthens our belief that he’ll contend for the title on his favored greens.
