PDC Cazoo Masters 2024: Can van Gerwen Keep the Momentum Going?

It may be the heart of winter in Europe right now, but the PDC tour is doing a brilliant job of keeping darts fans entertained. Not only has the Premier League Darts just kicked off this week, but the Cazoo Masters 2024 also gets underway this weekend in England.

With Michael van Gerwen having just won his home tournament in the Netherlands, the Dutchman will be eager to keep the momentum going at the Masters this weekend. The man who gave him the most trouble in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Luke Littler, isn’t playing in Milton Keynes, but can van Gerwen see off the other Luke on tour?

ウィリアムヒルWe break down all the latest darts odds from bookmaker William Hill ahead of the first dart this week and our this the best bets to make on the 2024 Masters.

Current Odds Date & Time: January 31st, 11:30 P.M. (GMT)

Outright betting odds from bookmaker William Hill confirm that this event will largely be between two men: Luke Humphries and Michael van Gerwen. Humphries, who has had a knack for winning virtually everything the past few months, pays a handsome 3.00. Van Gerwen, on the other hand, sits not far off on 4.50 thanks to his victory last weekend.

Behind these two, the odds increase significantly. Welshman Gerwyn Price is the third favourite with odds of 7.00. Next, a tie between Rob Cross and Michael Smith for 11.00 rounds out the chasing pack, before an even bigger jump in odds to Chris Dobey at 21.00.

There are a couple of clear bets we see ahead of this weekend based on bookmaker William Hill’s odds. First, expect Michael van Gerwen to keep the winning happening in England. The Ogre is simply too great of a champion to not maintain his current level, and without Luke Littler in the field, the veteran should have what it takes to get past Luke Humphries.

Another veteran that we expect to do well is Gerwyn Price. Not too long ago, Price was the hottest thing in darts, winning almost any event he entered. Sure, the Welshman has come off the boil somewhat but don’t expect that to last long.

It’s high time that Price makes a deep run in a tournament, and it would be no surprise if that happens at the Masters this weekend. Back Price to make the final for a return of 3.50, building on his semi-final run at the Dutch Darts Masters.
