VCT 2024 EMEA Kickoff | Can Fantastic FNATIC Live up to Expectations?

The VCT 2024 EMEA Kickoff raises the curtain on Valorant’s competitive season in Europe. It’s a tournament that will grant two teams the right to represent their region at Masters Madrid where they’ll challenge the best from across the globe. The battle for Valorant’s European throne begins on February 20 at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, Germany.

Similar to other regional events, the VCT EMEA Kickoff adopts a three-stage format: groups, play-ins, and playoffs. Eleven teams will be divided into three groups, with two groups (A and B) featuring four teams and the other one (C) containing three.

Every group will feature a double-elimination bracket, with each match adhering to a best-of-three (BO3) format. The top-performing team from each group will advance directly to the playoffs, while the second-seeded teams will enter a play-in stage. Play-ins will be round-robin match-ups played on best-of-three formats. The best team will join the three group champions in the playoff stages.

As the odds from bookmaker William Hill suggest, Fnatic appears to be the team to beat in Berlin. Fnatic dominated the scene in 2023, claiming victories at LOCK//IN and Masters Tokyo. Their impressive win streak and solid EMEA League performance make them serious contenders for VCT 2024 EMEA glory.

Despite international setbacks, NAVI dominated the EMEA League in 2023, led by cNed’s stellar Dueling. Now, they reunite their Copenhagen-winning core with ardiis returning from NRG, hoping to translate their regional strength into international success.

FUT Esports made a remarkable entry into Valorant’s elite tier in 2023, reaching both Masters and Champions alongside established teams. They’ve bolstered their squad for 2024 with cNed, a top Turkish player, raising expectations for a stellar showing in the German capital over the coming weeks.

It might be conservative, however we would like to play it safe here. Fnatic looks too good to fail at the moment, so we will back them to win VCT 20204 EMEA at 2.10 odds.

Fnatic entered the VCT 2024 EMEA Kickoff with their proven 2023 roster intact. While head coach mini steps down to a supporting role, their top seed gives them a distinct advantage, needing only three straight wins to claim the title. Their dominant win streaks last year suggest that achieving this feat isn’t out of reach.
