The Washington Nationals shocked professional baseball. On the road, they were able to steal two wins from the Houston Astros. With the Astros squandering home-field advantage, the Nationals were two-wins away from winning the World Series.
The series shifted to Washington, where the Nationals could win it all in front of their home town crowd. And then they blew it. The Astros stormed into Washington winning three straight games, taking back home-field advantage and the opportunity to win in front of their home town crowd.

You knew it was going to be a bad night for Washington when it was announced that Max Scherzer could not start. Scherzer woke up yesterday morning and could barely move, according to reports. Dealing with neck spasms, Scherzer looked bad during his press conference. He would not pitch yesterday evening and the Astros would go on to win Game 5 7-1.
Game 6 is must-win for the Nationals and they are going with their big arm in Stephen Strasburg. Strasburg helped the Nats beat the Astros once in Houston in Game 2. He would chuck 114 pitches en route to victory.
Houston will send ace Justin Verlander in hopes to close this series out. Verlander is still in search of his first World Series win. He is 0-5 with a 5.73 ERA in six World Series starts, becoming the first pitcher to lose his first five World Series decisions. All that won’t matter if the Astros manage to win the World Series Tuesday night.
