The NFL is back in full effect..sort of. The preseason has started with the Hall of Fame game and many teams will open their preseason this week.
While we still need to wait a few more weeks until regular-season action, fans are happy to know that our nights will be filled with football once again.
The sport of football is a team game, but fans are eager to see who will bring home the MVP trophy this season. It’s given to the Most Valuable Player in the league and is one of the most sought after awards in the league.

Online bookmaker SportsBetting has Patrick Mahomes with the best odds for MVP at +600.
Quarterbacks have dominated winning the MVP throughout history. The past six MVP’s have all been QBs, and online bookmaker SportsBetting believes the MVP in 2019 will once again be a QB. Patrick Mahomes is the favorite, as he is listed at +600 to win the award.
Running backs have also brought in their fair share of MVP awards, but according to SportsBetting, the MVP going to an RB is unlikely. Alvin Kamara is the first RB listed by SportsBetting to win the award. Kamara comes in at +5000.
If you’re a defensive player, the odds are slim for you to win the MVP this season. The last time a defensive player won the award was in 1986 when Linebacker Lawrence Taylor brought the award home. Aaron Donald seems to be the best choice to win the award on the defensive side but is still listed at +6600.
Can a defensive player break the mold in 2019, or will another QB walk away victorious?
