The 67’s roster is loaded with talent that is expected to be high draft picks in the NHL draft. Marco Rossi is near the top of the OHL leaderboard. The 17-year-old has tallied 81 points (53 assists) over this season and is projected to be a first-round draft pick. As mentioned, Ottawa has several players expected to make the jump to the next level.
As for the Ice Dogs, Ivan Lodnia is the leading scorer. With 51 points this season, Lodnia was selected in 2017 by the Minnesota Wild.
It’s no surprise that the 67’s are the favorites to win this contest, even on the road. Ottawa has been a strong team for two straight seasons, so any win against the defending Eastern Conference champions is one to be celebrated.
The Ice Dogs are looking to usurp the Barrie Colts for the final spot in the Eastern Conference, so every game is important. If the Ice Dogs manage to escape with a victory tonight it will be huge for the morale of Niagara.
