Buffalo Looks to Make Quick Work of New England

Cam Newton: Breaking News, Rumors & Highlights | Yardbarker

Tonight’s contest between the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots almost feels like an alternate reality.

For years, the Patriots have dummied the Bills in the AFC East. Normally taking the AFC crown, New England’s legacy in the division has not been rivaled for quite some time.

Now, the tables have turned and it’s the Buffalo Bills who are atop the AFC East and are looking to run over the Patriots.

This season marks the first time Buffalo will finish with 11 wins (or more) since 1999. Buffalo has finished with 13-wins twice in their history, both in the early ’90s. With a victory tonight and next week, the 2020 Bills would join an elite group of Buffalo teams.

New England has struggled mightily this season. The Patriots will finish with their lowest win total since 2000. With Cam Newton’s one-year contract expiring, it will be interesting to see what New England does with their QB position.

Bill Belichick is aging as well. Does he have what it takes to sit through a rebuild, or will he ride off into the sunset? These questions will be answered far after tonight’s game, but a loss to the Bills tonight (especially a blowout) could have New England and Belichick rethinking their plans.

New England has one of the best defensive groups in the NFL but struggles on offense. Scoring just under 21 points per game, the Patriots have disappointed in putting up numbers this season.

As for the Bills, their offense is ranked 6th in the league and 17th in defensive points against.
