Will Ceedee Lamb be the First Wide Receiver Selected?

Jerry Jeudy - Football - University of Alabama Athletics

2020 has been an interesting year for professional sports and tonight should be no different. The NFL Draft will take place online through videoconferencing. If the previous renditions of the NFL Draft were must-watch television, tonight should be an entertaining evening.

Everyone is focused on the potential first overall pick, but I think it’s time to show love to the Wide Receivers. Several wideouts could have their name called first (for their position), so who will it be?

Ceedee Lamb has the best odds to be selected first at his position. Lamb is listed at -155 and mock drafts have Lamb going as early as pick number 8. Lamb was loved by Sooner nation, racking up over 32 touchdowns during his time in Oklahoma.

Next in line is Alabama Crimson Tide product Jerry Jeudy. Jeudy is listed at +175 and there are rumors that he could be selected as the first wide receiver if certain teams move up in the draft. Jeudy finished with fewer touchdowns in his career than Lamb but also played fewer games.

Another longshot option to go first at his position is Henry Ruggs. Ruggs is another product from the Crimson Tide factory, totaling 1700 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns. Ruggs is listed at +600.

Justin Jefferson is listed at +1500, KJ Hamler is listed at +8500 and Tee Higgins is listed at +9000.

It appears as if Lamb and Jeudy are the most sought after WR’s in this years’ draft. Will either of them go first at their position or will another receiver take the honors?
