The MLS is Back Tournament is underway for Major League Soccer and has gone off with only a few minor hiccups. Tomorrow evening, the action continues as Orlando City SC battles New York City FC.
The top two of each group will advance to the round of 16 and Orlando City is off to a solid start. Picking up a victory in their opening contest, they will look to improve to 2-0-0 in the round-robin.
※ Current Odds Date & Time: July 13th, 7:30 P.M. (EST)
Online bookmaker 10Bet has New York City at -115 on the Money Line.
New York City FC cannot say the same thing. After failing to capture a goal in their opening contest, NYCFC are 0-0-1 and are desperate for their first goal and victory in the round-robin.
To secure their first win, Orlando City stole the game from Miami in stoppage time. In the 97th minute, Nani would bury the eventual game-winner to give Orlando their first win of the tournament. Both of Orlando’s goals came in the second half of the game.
New York City have struggled on offense in recent games.
The last time they score more than 1 goal in a game was the first leg of the Champions League, where they defeated San Carlos 5-3.
A win tomorrow would practically guarantee Orlando punching their ticket to the next round. A loss for New York City not only makes Group A more interesting, but it takes them off the ropes of being eliminated.
Can NYCFC scrape out a victory and stay alive in the tournament? They are dying for a huge offensive performance and there would be no time better than Tuesday night.
