Inter Looks to Return to Winning Ways in Big Match Against Roma

Fresh from suffering their first league defeat in 12 games, Inter Milan will look to return to winning ways in the Italian Serie A on Sunday in a big clash against AS Roma. It’s a huge match for both with Inter sitting only a point behind league leaders AC Milan and Roma just four points off the top.

The two have played out five consecutive draws in the league and UK bookmaker William Hill offers the draw with odds at 3.60 this weekend.

Inter won eight straight games before visiting Sampdoria on Wednesday and ended up on the wrong side of a 2-1 result. Romelu Lukaku failed to score for only the fifth time in 15 league appearances this season and only center-back Stefan de Vrij found a way past Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero, who finished with six saves.

ウィリアムヒルScoring generally isn’t a problem for Inter who have managed a league-high 41 goals this season, but Alexis Sanchez missed an early penalty and it set the tone for the whole game. Inter have lost back-to-back league games just once with Antonio Conte in charge, so Roma has to be ready for a big bounce-back effort by the visitors. The Giallorossi enter the contest in great form having won three on the bounce and five of the last six league outings. Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been particularly impressive during the stretch recording three goals and three assists. Having netted eight times, the Armenian leads the team in goals this season and he’s also produced a league-best seven assists.

Dating back to last season, Roma are unbeaten in 12 league outings at home and the Stadio Olimpico isn’t among Inter’s favorite traveling destinations as they have won there only once in the last 10 games across all competitions.

Roma manager Paulo Fonseca is plotting another miserable visit for the Nerazzurri. “For us, it’s always important to get the three points, regardless of the opponent. Inter are a strong team, but we always want to win,” said the Portuguese tactician following Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Crotone.
