Osasuna have kicked off the season with five wins, three draws and two losses to take over the sixth spot in the La Liga table. The side from Pamplona won three consecutive games before settling for a 1-1 draw over the weekend against Granada.

Jagoba Arrasate’s men came very close to taking their winning streak to four games as Granda managed to score the equalizer only in the 90th minute. Osasuna spent a large part of the second half with ten men after left-back Cote was sent off, so the draw was still a pretty decent result.

Osasuna have built their success on a great collective effort as they already have 10 different goalscorers in the league. With 13 goals conceded, Arrasate hasn’t been able to rely on his defense, so getting goals from all over the place has been hugely important.

The Basque side has scored in eight consecutive outings after starting the campaign with back-to-back goalless draws. A pretty favorable schedule has helped them climb into the top-six, but their wins also include a 2-1 road victory over Europa League winners Villarreal.

Will the good momentum be enough for Osasuna to put an end to an awful winless run in the matchup against Real? Los Rojillos last managed to beat Real in 2011 and the Madrid side has won 11 of the following 14 meetings.

It was a much-needed result for Real last weekend as they had collected just one point in two matches ahead of their trip to Camp Nou. The victory helped them stay close to Real Sociedad, who are topping the table with a one-point advantage.

Los Blancos finally got some offense without Karim Benzema being involved as David Alaba scored with a great strike and Lucas Lucas Vazquez showed great determination to knock in a rebound that ended up being the decisive goal.

Real showed great work rate throughout the contest and they will certainly need to work hard again against Osasuna to avoid dropping points.
