With a rather “calm” race at the Mexican GP, we’re hoping Brazil can provide more when it comes to straight up racing and on-track battles between both the drivers and the teams. For the Brazilian GP, the oddsmakers have several surprises in store for us.

For starters, Max Verstappen is, as expected, the favourite to take victory in Brazil with the odds on him priced at only 1.53. The first surprise however is Lewis Hamilton. Given the fact that this is his home race, after being granted honorary citizenship earlier in 2022, the odds on him are priced at only 7.00. A significant change from his earlier prices.

Last but not least, we have Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz both dropping with the oddsmakers with the prices on them being at 13.00 and 21.00 respectively. A significant change from their prices earlier in the season. Perhaps this is due to their overall performances that leave much to be desired.

The Circuit

For the Brazilian GP, we are headed over to theAutódromo José Carlos Pace in São Paulo. A 4.309 km long circuit numbering 71 laps and 2 DRS zones. The current lap record is held by Valtteri Bottas with a time of 1:10:540 set in 2018.

The circuit itself held its first GP all the way back in 1973 with Emerson Fittipaldi claiming victory. Most wins at this track however is a record held by the 4-time world champion Alain Prost with six victories in the years 1982, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988 and 1990.

What to Expect?

With a rather controversial race back in 2021, it will be interesting to see how two of the hardest racers in modern day Formula 1 fare this time round. Max Verstappen will undoubtedly seek redemption for last year’s mistakes and Lewis will certainly try and make his home GP a special one. One thing’s for certain though, it will be a spectacle worth watching.

As for the midfield battles, the situation is looking promising. Alpine and McLaren are almost level in fighting for the 4th spot in the championship. With only 7 points apart, there’s still everything to race for. McLaren looked particularly strong in Mexico taking 7th and 9th place, which allowed them to haul enough points to be kept in the race for 4th place.

Fighting in the back we have HAAS and Williams Racing battling it out for whatever is left. With an empty seat at HAAS, there’s still a battle to be fought for the likes of Mick Schumacher. If he is to race in Formula 1 next season, he will need to prove his worth in the HAAS Ferrari and bring home some points. A task easier said than done. Whatever happens, we’re sure Mick will give it his all.
