Liverpool have pushed City all the way this season but it looks like the Reds will fall just short of grabbing the top spot. City’s 2-2 draw against West Ham opened up the title race a bit, but Pep Guardiola’s men haven’t dropped points in back-to-back games all season and they are heavy favorites for the victory on Sunday.

City have failed to win just four times at home and will look to finish off the season in style in front of their fans. They have won their last three home games with a combined score of 13-1, meaning Villa will really be up against it here.

Steven Gerrard’s game plan should start with an idea on how to stop Kevin De Bruyne from influencing the game. He’s the passer of the ball in world football and De Bruyne has also added a lot more goals to his game this season. The Belgian superstar had a superb four-goal effort against Wolverhampton a couple of weeks back and he’s scored a career-high 15 times in the Premier League in 2021-22.

Villa received a nice bounce from their managerial change in November but things are ending on a sour note for the team this season. They recently beat Norwich and Burnley in back-to-back games but these are Villa’s only wins in the last 10 games.

Gerrard has gotten his side to score goals regularly, but the team’s defensive record is poor and it’s prevented them from gaining any momentum. There have been just two clean sheets in the last 10 games and that is far from good enough.

Things could turn very ugly for Villa on Sunday if Gerrard doesn’t find a way to stop the leak at the back. City can score goals in a hurry and they have been averaging over three goals per game at the Etihad this season.

It would be an amazing story if Villa manage to somehow avoid defeat and Gerrard helps his former club to the title. Liverpool face Wolverhampton at home on the final day and will move past Guardiola’s team to take the Premier League crown if they win and City doesn’t.
