Six Jönköping 2022 will be the second Major held in Sweden as Ubisoft organized the last Six Major of the 2022 circuit in the country where 16 teams will be vying for US$200,000 and a chance to compete at The Six Invitationals.
Dubbed as the games “World Cup”, only 16 of the best teams throughout the year will have a chance to compete in the season’s culminating event. And there are only seven spots left up for grabs as nine teams have officially qualified.
※ Current Odds Date & Time: November 10th, 11:00 P.M. (EST)
Team Liquid is favored by bet365 to win outright at 6.00. The team’s highest placement this year was in Charlotte, the first major of 2022 where they ended up at 3rd-4th place. TSM’s odds to win trails a bit behind at 7.00, as they are tied with w7m esports.
w7m esports leads the entire pack in terms of Global Points at 1060. Being one of the few favorites in this event, the team will surely look to cement their spot at the top. Lagging behind them are DarkZero Esports, but they will not be attending this Major so they will stay at 1050. Wolves Esports even has a chance to overtake them should they place high in Jönköping.
Coming back to Sweden after winning the Six Sweden Major 2021 is Faze Clan led by Astro, who has been a mainstay for this roster being an active member of the squad for four years. The team won a Major after a close 3-2 battle against NIP. They also placed second in Berlin, the second Major of the season, falling against Rouge in a best-of-five series that went all the way to the deciding game.
Faze Clan needs to at the very least enter the top 8 in order to sit comfortably in the rankings for the race to the Six Invitationals. They currently sit at the 11th spot. And with the scores as close as they are coming into Jönköping, teams will certainly be looking to place as high as possible as this tournament.
Apart from Faze Clan, several teams are also vying for high placement to even dare hope to book their ticket to the Invitationals. Teams such as Heroic, SANDBOX gaming, Furia, and Soniqs also look to climb the ladder before the final count.
This Major will be the most crucial tournament these teams will be playing for the remainder of 2022. With no clear favorites and the competition wide open, it’s anyone’s guess who will come out on top.
