It’s the start of a new era for Bayern Munich when the club continues the Bundesliga season on Saturday as Thomas Tuchel takes charge of his first game against Borussia Dortmund.
Tuchel is expected to make a winning start in Munich with bookmaker William Hill having the odds for a Bayern win at 1.50. The odds are at 5.50 for a Dortmund victory and at 4.80 for a draw between the two.

With Bayern sitting one point adrift from Dortmund in second place, Tuchel can win some fans over straight away with a victory on Saturday. However, a negative result could have a major impact on the whole end-of-the-season run-in.
Bayern is still the favorite to win another Bundesliga title, but Borussia has been on a superb run in 2023 and looks ready to challenge for the crown all the way until the end.
Following the World Cup break, Dortmund has posted nine wins and one draw in the league games. They have been very prolific in front of the goal and appear to be capable of outscoring anyone they come up against. There are certainly goals needed on Saturday to get a result at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern has had their woes in the league this season but their attacking record has remained very strong. Through 25 outings, the FCB has scored 72 times, firing blanks only once. Robert Lewandowski is long gone but the side is still full of world-class attacking threats.
Dortmund has notched 55 goals, which is still a very good record, but far from Bayern’s productivity. The team has less individual talent and relies more on its best players to do the business. Jude Bellingham is set to play a key role again for the visitors and Marco Reus should be in a buoyant mood after becoming a history-maker last time around.
Reus reached 161 goals for Dortmund two weeks ago in a 6-1 victory over FC Cologne and is now the highest-scorer ever for the club in the pro era. Health has let him down on multiple occasions throughout his career, but when he’s fit and firing, there are very few players in the Bundesliga better than him.
Dortmund battled back from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 at home against Bayern back in October. It ended an eight-game losing streak for the team in the match-up. Can they now get their first league win over Bayern since 2018?
