Heroic currently sits on top of the HLTV rankings and has made the finals in four different events since the Rio Major, winning the Spring Finals but coming up short in IEM Rio and before that in Katowice. The team has been hitting their stride with rifler stavn reaching superstar status and his co-star Jabbi starting to become more and more confident. The team certainly has potential to overcome anyone on the server.

Meanwhile, G2 has been a revelation ever since adding jks to their roster. With his aggressive T-side rifling and great anchoring on the CT-side, it seems like jks has solved a lot of the problems G2 was having last year as the offensive tactics seemed lacking. A lot of the credit also goes to IGL Hooxi. However, there are reasons of concern as they bombed out early in ESL Pro League Season 17 after a very dominant run in Katowice, edging out Heroic 3-1 in the finale, in which the team uncharacteristically lost in Inferno.

All eyes will be on the hometown heroes in Team Vitality, who dominated the RMRs and will enter the tournament in an advanced position. They also won IEM Rio 2023, winning against Heroic in a one-sided affair 2-0. While superstar French awper ZywOo deserves all the credit, and even winning the event MVP, a lot of Vitality’s success has been due to the fact that the rest of the team has rallied behind ZywOo. The Danish duo of Magisk and Dupreeh has stepped up big time, performing almost as well as they did back in Astralis. Israeli rifler Spinx also looks like he is playing well to his potential.

This is a big major for Dupreeh, who has attended all 20 majors in CS:GO history, the only player to ever do so. He also has four major winners under his belt, including back-to-back-to-back wins from 2018 to 2019. Winning here would make him the only person to win five majors in CS:GO history. And because this is the last, he would be the only person ever to do so. A major win will also certainly elevate ZywOo’s status as one of the best to ever play the game despite only coming onto the scene in 2019.

At the end of the day, will Vitality come through?
