CS:GO Paris Major Challengers Stage: Will There Be Any Early Upsets?

Counter Strike fans, it’s that time of the year. With the Paris Major upon us, the next two weeks will bring a smorgasbord of CS:GO action. To get this tournament under way, the Challengers Stage is commencing today, with plenty of great betting action to be had on this preliminary stage of the tournament.

While big names such as G2 Esports and FaZe Clan are near-certainties to move through the Challengers Stage and into the Legends Stage, some aren’t so guaranteed of success this week. OG will be needing a big shift from their key players with the likes of paiN Gaming and Monte knocking on their door, while both GamerLegion and Grayhound will be hoping for upsets.

ウィリアムヒルWe break down all the best bets to place on the Challenger Stage of the CS:GO Paris Major this week with the latest odds from bookmaker William Hill.

Current Odds Date & Time: May 8th, 12:00 A.M. (GMT)

Looking at the odds to qualify from the CS:GO Paris Major Challengers Stage, there are two very heavy favourites—G2 Esports and FaZe Clan. With odds of 1.04 and 1.08, these two are ahead of the next favorites ENCE, MOUZ and Team Liquid, who also have strong odds at 1.33 to 1.40. The odds then begin to become a little more even for the remaining qualification spots with forZe, Ninjas in Pyjamas, OG and paiN Gaming all paying between 1.61 and 1.91.

Beyond this, odds for the remaining seven participants are even longer with Monte, Complexity, Apeks and GamerLegion a reasonable chance at 2.20 to 2.62. Grayhound, Fluxo and TheMongolz are rank outsiders at 5.00 to 6.00.

With eight qualifying spots up for grabs, betting on the Challengers Stage of the Paris Major is really about finding value in those teams that are right on the cusp on being good enough. We say that GamerLegion is one of those squads and has a good chance of defying the odds for a qualification spot this week. To date this season, GamerLegion has recorded 10 separate top 10 finishes. While many of these were in qualifier or B-Tier events, they did come 5th at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: European RMR A that is promising. Paying 2.62 to qualify and with the confidence that comes from recent results, GamerLegion is a strong bet.

Outside of this, OG is also presenting some value as a bet to qualify. While their recent results have been unimpressive, there’s no denying that OG is a team of calibre. Last season, they made several deep runs at both the BLAST Premier: Spring Groups, Falls Groups and Spring Finals, as well as at the BLAST Premier: World Final. With odds of 1.80, backing OG is a good value bet.
