Roberto D’Aversa’s men are flying high at third, having notched 11 points in their first five outings. A run of three wins and two draws means that Lecce is one of only two sides with an unbeaten record in the Italian top flight, the other being table-topping Inter Milan, which has won all five matches.

Lecce also joins Inter as one of the best defensive teams in the league. The Giallorossi have conceded only four times so far and boast two clean sheets. A rock-solid defensive effort will no doubt be vital to secure a positive result in Turin.

Attacking-wise, Lecce has benefited greatly from Nikola Krstovic’s quick adaptation to his new surroundings. The Montenegro forward had a prolific season in the Slovakian top flight a season ago, and there likely weren’t many who expected him to keep up his scoring rate on a higher level. But Krstovic has impressively hit three goals in his first four Serie A appearances.

Entering the previous round of fixtures, Juventus also boasted an unbeaten record with three wins and a draw, but Sassuolo shocked the Old Lady Saturday night with a 4-2 triumph. Wojciech Szczesny had an off day between the sticks, and Juve even scored a comical own goal in stoppage time to seal the deal.

Massimiliano Allegri will now want to see a bounce-back performance from his team. The home surroundings show help, with Juventus having failed to win only three of its last 10 league outings at the Allianz Stadium.

Lecce’s stern defense will be tested here by a team that has averaged over two goals per game early in the season. Dusan Vlahovic has regained his confidence, and Federico Chiesa appears to be finally back in top form after he suffered a bad knee injury in 2022. Chiesa is also benefiting from a new position, as Allegri has been playing him in a central position as a second striker. The 25-year-old heads into Tuesday’s match-up with a career-best three-game scoring streak.
