The past month has been about as distracting as it could possibly be for the players competing on the LIV Golf circuit. With the announcement that the PGA Tour and LIV Golf will be merging, the golfing world has been thrown into shambles. Some players are thrilled with the news, while others are outraged. Details about the future of LIV Golf in 2024 are still very murky with plenty still to be hashed out between the two parties.
All this means that heading into the LIV Golf Invitational Valderrama 2023, no-one would blame players for being a little off. However, those that are able to gain some semblance of focus and play their best golf are likely to have an excellent opportunity to win their share of the $25 million up for grabs.

Looking at the outright betting odds on the LIV Golf Invitational Valderrama 2023, we can see that this should be a closely fought tournament. While Cameron Smith does hold a slight lead at 9.00 in the odds, behind him Sergio Garcia, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson are all on 11.00 to 12.00. Rounding out the top five in the betting odds is Mito Pereira, who sits back at 17.00.
Odds for a top five finish follow a similar pattern for the top four betting favourites. The only deviation is for the consistent Bryson DeChambeau, who slips into fifth spot on 4.20.

When it comes to the best bets ahead of this weekend, one name stands out above the rest of the contenders: Sergio Garcia. While the Spaniard is yet to win an event on the LIV Golf circuit, Garcia has a strong reputation here in Valderrama. Not only will the 43-year-old be playing in his home condition with the local crowd behind him, but it’s a ground where he’s had much success in the past. Garcia has won three Andalucia Masters on the PGA Tour and knows what it takes to win on this course.
If Garcia isn’t able to continue his strong form in Valderrama then we say backing Branden Grace for a top five finish is the next best bet. The 35-year-old has three top five finishes from seven events this season, with a T10 finish as well. Most recently he came runner-up at the LIV Golf Invitational DC prior to which he came in T2 at the LIV Golf Invitational Tulsa as well. Grace’s consistency makes him an excellent bet with a return of 5.50 if he makes the top five in Spain this weekend.
