With Erling Haaland bagging a brace and Phil Foden hitting a late goal, City won at Old Trafford earlier in the season 3-0. The club could now finish a league season without conceding a goal in either match against their neighbors for the first time in 50 years.

City has won five of the last six Manchester derbies overall, including each of the last two clashes at the Etihad Stadium. United hasn’t even gotten a sniff in either contest, conceding a whopping 10 goals. The Red Devils will be up against it again on Sunday, with City currently looking unbeatable.

The defending champions are riding a 35-game home unbeaten streak across all competitions and could match the longest such run of the Pep Guardiola era in the derby. Meanwhile, Guardiola’s men have also scored in 54 consecutive home outings, which puts them on the brink of equaling a club record set between 2012 and 2014.

With Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne back in form, it would be something of a miracle if City doesn’t hit the aforementioned milestones on Sunday. City has just crushed Luton Town 6-2 in the FA Cup, with Haaland and De Bruyne directly linking up for four goals. Haaland had a miserable day at the office a couple of weeks back against Chelsea, but a five-goal effort against Luton is a sign that he’s back to his best.

Haaland has saved some of his best performances in a City shirt for the derby. He’s been involved in eight of the 10 Premier League goals the team has scored against United since Haaland joined the blue half of Manchester, scoring five times and setting up three goals. Both he and Foden had hat tricks in last season’s home derby at the Etihad. Another hat trick would already put Haaland tied with Sergio Aguero for the most Premier League goals scored for City in Manchester derbies.
