Can Notre Dame Flip the Script Against Clemson?

It’s championship Saturday in college football. With many marquee matchups on the docket, it’s hard to specify one championship to focus on.

With that being said, I am excited for the ACC Championship between #2 Notre Dame and #3 Clemson. These two teams met earlier in the season, ending in double OT. It would be the FIghting Irish getting the better end of the Tigers, which would be Clemson’s only loss of the season.

This contest is much bigger than the ACC Championship. Notre Dame has practically booked their ticket into the College Football Playoff. As for the Tigers, their one loss could sway the voting committee one way or another. A second loss would ruin their bid at the CFP, especially with teams like Texas A&M and Ohio State on the brink of capturing their spot.In ND’s win over the Tigers this season, they were able to eliminate the running game from Clemson. Granted, that didn’t dramatically affect the Tigers’ ability to score points, but it appears as if the Notre Dame defense knows how to stop Travis Etienne. That’s easier said than done and Notre Dame has been the only team to do so this season.

Clemson picked apart Notre Dame’s defense with their passing ability. Despite the loss, Trevor Lawrence and the Tigers’ passing game eclipsed 300 yards, the most of any offense against Notre Dame this season.
