Football Sunday is upon us and rather than looking at the usual team vs. team odds – whether it’s the spread, over/under, or total points, I thought it would be interesting to look at certain player props.
One of my favorite props to look at is passing touchdowns by a certain Quarterback. Focusing on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers battle it out against the Philadelphia Eagles, we’ll take a look at Rodgers’ potential touchdown numbers.

Online bookmaker William Hill has Rodgers’ Total Passing Touchdowns O/U at 2.5.
This Sunday night contest has Rodgers’ O/U for total passing touchdowns at 2.5. Entering this game, the Eagles’ defense is 16th in the NFL, allowing 25.2 points per game.Looking at passing touchdowns against per game, the Eagles are in elite company. Philadelphia allows 1.3 passing touchdowns per game, which is good for 3rd in the NFL. That number is above elite teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Kansas City Chiefs.
This season, in Rodgers’ 11 games played, he has thrown 3 or more touchdowns in 8 of those games. In games that he didn’t, he still managed to throw 2 or more touchdowns in 10 of his 11 games started. Only once this season has Rodgers been limited to 1 or 0 passing touchdowns.
Philadelphia gets torched by the ground game, so this is an interesting wager. Rodgers certainly has the skill set to do damage against the Eagles, but Philly does a decent job in stopping touchdown passes.
2.5 touchdowns could be reached over the first half with how good Rodgers is. But with some key receivers injured, this could be a game where the Packers focus on the ground game.
