The team also extended the contracts of three of their cores in aBeZy, Cellium, and Simp and now have locked down their prize possessions to play for the team for the upcoming season.

The first Major of the season has a total of US$500,000 up for grabs with 40% going to the first placer. Each team will battle another four CDL teams on the two separate weekends of the Major I. Each victory will net the winning team 10 CDL points. The teams are seeded based on the total number of points they will accumulate in this round-robin.

The game will have standard pro/challenger settings with three modes: Search and Destroy, Hardpoint, and Control with a total of six maps playable across all these modes.

Atlanta Faze came in second during the culminating tournament of the 2022 season last August and took home US$650,000 after losing to the LA Thieves in a 3-2 upset in the finals after winning against them in the upper bracket finals 3-1 to secure their finals berth.

The Thieves continued on with their championship-winning roster for the new season and will strive to replicate their performance for the upcoming season. The August win at the Galen Center in Los Angeles might be seen as a fluke, so Kenny and the rest of the team will have a chip on their shoulder trying to prove that they are deserving of being the defending champions.

Toronto Ultra, meanwhile, branched off their Canadian roots and have an international roster for the Majors. The team really rebuilt their squad with coach Mayhem being removed from the team in place of Flux as the final piece of the puzzle. Their academy team roster has also been picked up by plenty of teams as their proteges have showed great potential.

With the new season about to kick off at the Raleigh Convention, all teams will look to be at their very best to start the season on a high note. All eyes will be on Atlanta Faze to dominate early on and show their prowess. Will they live up to the challenge?
