Atlanta Faze Looking Hot and Heavy for CDL Championships

Winning the stage 2 major and coming up third in stage 3, it seems like nothing can stop Atlanta Faze from eventually dominating the Call of Duty Circuit 2023.

bet365Oddsmaker bet365 agrees with this notion, giving Atlanta Faze the lowest odds at 3.50. They are however tied with stage 3 major winners, Toronto Ultra, who have silently been having a great season as well.

Atlanta Faze has been a staple in podium finishes. In all the first three majors of the 2023 circuit, Atlanta Faze has managed to finish third in stage 1 and 3 as well as a first place finish in stage 2, winning against the Los Angeles Thieves in an intense best of seven match-up where they eventually came out on top after six maps of play. Simp also took home the MVP award for the event that was held in Boston.

The trio of aBezy, Cellium, and Simpl has played together for almost four years and in that span of time has been dominating the entire Call of Duty League scene, notching 8 first place finishes in big tournaments with each accumulating a million dollars in tournament winnings alone. Meanwhile, latest addition SlasheR who has played most of his career in Los Angeles-based teams has been quite a nice addition to the star-studded roster. SlasheR arrived to the team in August of 2022 and has been contributing well from his first day.

Meanwhile, Toronto Ultra will try to carry their momentum of winning the stage 3 major held in Arlington. They managed to defeat Atlanta Faze in the upper bracket finals to send them down to the lower bracket where they would eventually be eliminated by Optic Texas. The 3-1 victory over Atlanta Faze was a turnaround statement from the team after falling to them in a 3-0 sweep during the stage 2 major in Boston.

The arrival of Hicksy, who joined just a month before the stage 3 major, might just be the best roster change in recent history as it has proven to be effective after a month with the team. Scrappy took home the MVP honors after the team managed to fend off Optic Texas who was having quite the lower bracket run after losing early during round 1 to Boston Breach. Optic Texas was hoping to have the dream major run but was cut short right at the very end.

With the season about to finish, the race to the top has never been tighter. Will Atlanta Faze pull through? Or will Toronto Ultra’s momentum prove unstoppable?
