River (50) basically has twice as many points as Barracas (24) and there hasn’t been anyone good enough to keep pace with the team at the top of the table as Talleres de Cordoba sits 10 points adrift. Demichelis has seen his side score the most goals in the league (39) and a record of 13 goals conceded across 21 games also marks an outstanding defensive record. The hosts need to get everything absolutely perfect to get something from the fixture.

Barracas is struggling near the bottom of the table but the team has shown some fight recently. A 5-2 loss against Estudiantes is the lone defeat for the Baraqueños across the eight league outings. The team has also done pretty well on home turf lately, recording four clean sheets in six games and losing just once. However, as this year’s results show, River is on a whole other level compared to the rest of the league and it is going to be difficult for Barracas to maintain their level of play Saturday.

With Lucas Peltran and Pablo Solari leading the charge, River has failed to win just five league games in the current campaign. Peltran is the leading goalscorer with nine tallies and Solari boasts the most assists with five. Barracas manager Rodolfo de Paoli will need a special plan to stop the former, with Peltran being on a hot streak of four goals in four games.

The River frontline could end up feasting against Barracas. De Paoli’s side has done well at home defensively as of late, but only four sides have conceded more goals in Argentina this season than Barracas (27) making it very tough for the team to pick up wins. With 21 games played, Barracas has been victorious only five times while losing eight. It would be a big achievement for the club to avoid a ninth defeat Saturday.
