ATP Indian Wells Predictions & Odds: Possible Turning Point for Alcaraz?

The 2024 tennis season may well be 10 weeks old already, but the rubber well and truly hits the road at the Indian Wells Masters 1000 this week. Can Novak Djokovic gain revenge for his Australian Open loss? Will Jannik Sinner extend his winning streak? Read on for all our ATP Indian Wells predictions, based on the latest betting odds from bookmaker William Hill.

ATP Indian Wells Predictions

It’s essentially a mini-Grand Slam, and all the biggest names in tennis will be on display this week. Who will prevail? Here’s what we think.

Carlos Alcaraz Will Defend His Title

It’s no secret that Carlos Alcaraz has been down on confidence and results the past few months. Since winning Wimbledon with an epic fifth set victory over Djokovic, the world No. 2 is title-less on the ATP Tour. However, we say his bad form has actually been blown out of proportion.

The Spaniard still made the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, semi-finals of the Nitto ATP Finals and US Open, and final of the Cincinnati Masters. These results are nothing to sneeze at, and with all the attention on Djokovic and Sinner this week, Alcaraz should thrive. Conditions are perfect for the 20-year-old in Indian Wells, and we expect he’ll play freely to defend his title.

Winner to Come from Fourth Quarter

Alcaraz is in the fourth quarter of the draw, so it’s no surprise one of our ATP Indian Wells predictions is that the winner will come from this section. However, on the outside chance that the defending champ does misfire, there are plenty of other brilliant title contenders in this section too.

Alex de Minaur is in red-hot formhaving just won Acapulco. Alexander Zverev is back to his top five best. Jack Draper looms as a dark horse, while big servers Alexander Bublik and Nicolas Jarry will love the desert hard courts. With a payout of 4.00, this is a great bet to take.

Expect a brilliant week of tennis in Indian Wells. Exciting narratives abound as Djokovic looks to gain revenge for his Australian Open loss, Sinner rides a winning streak and Alcaraz seeks to regain old form. Not to mention the return of Rafael Nadal. We say it will be the younger Spaniard who prevails in America this week, defending the title he won this time last year.
