The smell of a new opportunity has taken over MLS clubs as the journey into another season begins. Tomorrow afternoon, the MLS will kick off another season.
The clubs will once again be fighting for the MLS Cup, currently held by Seattle Sounders F.C. Seattle has been a threat over the past few seasons, capturing two cups in four seasons. They will look to win back-to-back cups, an achievement not accomplished since the LA Galaxy did so in 2011-2012.
Current Odds Date & Time: February 28th, 7:30 P.M. (EST)
Online bookmaker 10Bet has LAFC at +350 to win the MLS Cup.
Even though the Sounders are the defending champions, they are not the favorite to win this season (according to 10Bet). That honor goes to Los Angeles F.C. It’s no surprise that LAFC has the best odds (+350), especially considering their roster. Carlos Vela, Diego Rossi, and Eduard Atuesta are three names that stand out among a group of talented individuals.
The Sounders were given decent odds, but the Western Conference should be a tough battle. Seattle is listed at +600 to win the MLS Cup.
Sandwiched in between LAFC and Seattle is Atlanta F.C. Atlanta most recently won the MLS Cup back in 2019. Atlanta is expected to be the top contender in the Eastern Conference this season.
Other notable teams we could see in the MLS Cup are the LA Galaxy (+700), New York City FC (+750) and Toronto F.C. (+1000).
It will be interesting to see how LAFC fare this season. In search of their first-ever MLS Cup, many believe that they have the best roster in the MLS. Of course, a team on paper needs to execute on the pitch and action begins Saturday afternoon.
