Washington are the defending World Series champions, while the New York Yankees are looking to build off 2019, which saw them reach the American League Championship Series.

Cole will make his debut in a Yankees uniform since signing with the club for 9-years. Cole finished second to Justin Verlander in AL Cy Young voting.
Scherzer has been the go-to guy in Washington for years. The three-time Cy Young winner led the NL with 12.7 strikeouts per nine innings and was dominant in the postseason.
The Yankees’ lineup will be locked and loaded for tomorrow. Aaron Judge was expected to miss the beginning of the season thanks to a nagging injury but will suit up since the home opener was pushed back to July.
While the Nationals made some additions to their lineup, they will miss Anthony Rendon as he joins the Los Angeles Angels. Ryan Zimmerman and Joe Ross are also sitting out due to coronavirus.
It will be interesting to see if the hitters or pitchers have an advantage in the early going. While teams have been preparing for this moment for weeks, there is some rust expected. Hitters won’t have an easy-going in this contest, considering the talent on the mound.
