AC Milan and Inter Milan are set to play the 233rd Derby della Madonnina on Saturday with both looking to continue their fine starts to the season.
Derbies typically bring a lot of bookings and bookmaker William Hill considers Milan’s Ante Rebic to be the likeliest player to get carded with the odds at 1.95.

Last year, there ended up being four Milan derbies and we saw each side pick up one win. An Oliver Giroud brace brought Milan the victory in a league fixture and Inter dominated the clash in the second leg of the Italian Cup semifinals, producing a 3-0 win with Lautaro Martinez scoring twice.
Based on his form at the start of the season, Martinez could be Inter’s hero again on Saturday. He’s among the league’s top scorers with three goals and also boasts an assist in just three starts. The Argentine star broke the 20-goal barrier in Serie A for the first time in his career last term and looks set for an even bigger campaign.
Martinez’s hot form has led Inter to nine points in four games. The team had a shocker with a 3-1 defeat to Lazio a week ago, but they bounced back well against new boys Cremonese on Tuesday.
Milan enter the fixture with an unbeaten record for the season. Stefano Pioli’s men have registered two wins and two draws. Their first loss of the campaign was close midweek against Sassuolo, but goalkeeper Mike Maignan saved everyone’s neck with a penalty save.
The 27-year-old Frenchman has been a rock for the Rossoneri and his work has resulted in the team recording 14 clean sheets in 2022, which is the best mark across all of the five biggest European leagues.
The superb defensive record gives Milan a very good base to build on and it’s helped the team to a 20-game unbeaten streak in the league. Spezia, of all teams, were the last side to beat them when Emmanuel Gyasi shocked the San Siro crowd with a stoppage-time winner on January 17.
Inter have been very resilient as well with just four league losses suffered in 2022. One of them came against their neighbors back in February. Giroud managed to push Milan to a special result as the derby has been dominated by Inter for quite a while. Milan have won just four league meetings in the match-up after doing the double over Inter in 2010-11.
